Castlight needed a flexible solution to support its Sales team for their product demo needs, specifically in their last round presentations. Another challenge was to create the demo platform while staying on track with the Product roadmap.
Scary, right? But I used that anxiety and channeled it through my creative process.
One major constraint was to be able to provide a flexible offline iOS solution - and that was way before PWAs become a hot thing. As a solution, I architected a custom framework based on a Jamstack, using a mix of Corodova for the native app, JS/Less/HTML5 for the front-end and Node/Heroku/Postgres for the custom backend API.
Not only did the platform get unanimously adopted by the entire Sales team, but it also generated new opportunities for the business. As a direct result of this, I was promoted to a director position. I grew the team by adding more technologists and designers, and implemented a streamlined process to manage it. The team is now self-sufficient. They are able to maintain the demo platform and are taking on new creative and technology challenges.
